Wedding Hair Prep Guide
Everything you need to know after securing your booking
Congratulations on booking your wedding hair with us - we’re so excited to be part of your day!
This guide will walk you through everything you need to know in the lead-up to your wedding, from trials to prep to what happens on the morning.
Hair Trial Recommendations
We strongly recommend booking your hair trial around 4–6 weeks before the wedding.
This timeframe ensures:
• Your hair is the closest to how it will be on the day
• Colours, cuts, and extensions (if needed) are finalised
• You have time to make any adjustments
• We can perfect your look together
If you’re unsure what style suits your hair type, dress, or wedding vibe - your trial is the perfect time to explore those options.
Extensions & Added Volume
If your chosen style requires extra volume or length, we may recommend:
• Clip-in extensions
This will be discussed at your trial, or feel free to reach out earlier if you know you’ll need them.
(You’re welcome to purchase your own, or we can assist in sourcing high-quality options.)
Preparing Your Hair For The Big Day
Clean, properly prepped hair is essential for long-lasting, beautiful results.
Please ensure the following for you and the whole bridal party:
1. Wash hair the night before OR morning of
Whatever suits your schedule.
2. Use a clarifying shampoo
Shampoo 2–3 times to remove all oils, product build-up, or dry shampoo.
3. Conditioner through mids & ends only
Unless we’ve discussed otherwise.
4. Hair must be 100% dry
We don’t schedule time for blow-drying on the day.
Optional (but highly recommended!) If you’re busy or want an extra treat, consider booking a professional blow dry the day before the wedding.
It guarantees:
• Clean, smooth, fully prepped hair
• No shortcuts
• A beautiful base for styling
You can book this at any salon you prefer.
Wedding Morning Details
As your date approaches, we will reconfirm all final details, including:
• Location and access instructions
• Set-up area (good light + power point recommended)
• Final numbers and start time
• Remaining balance + payment options
Please ensure the bridal party is ready at their scheduled start time so we can keep the morning running smoothly.
If Anything Changes
If numbers, timing, or locations change at any stage during your planning, please let us know as soon as possible so we can adjust accordingly.
