Steph’s Pregnancy Journey

Steph is a little over halfway in her pregnancy journey so we thought we’d check-in and see how she’s travelling!

Steph! How far along are you now?

I am currently 29 weeks – due 8th August

How exciting, the final trimester. How you are feeling?

Overall, I have been feeling alright throughout my pregnancy. I have had a few days of nausea and sickness but I think with the new salon opening and lots of things to do before the baby arrives, I haven’t thought about it too much. I recently got a blood test; I have been feeling over-tired. I assumed it was from everything we have going on but when I got the results back, it turns out, I was low in iron. I got an iron infusion and was feeling back on track, full of energy in no time.

We’re very glad you’re back to feeling like yourself again! Are you loving or hating being pregnant?

I am absolutely loving it! I am so obsessed with my little baby bump and I am loving pregnancy fashion. I am glad that I am pregnant during winter so I can wear jeans, long sleeves and a nice coat.

You’re rocking the baby bump! You look fantastic!! What do you love the most about it?

I am loving learning all about the female body and what it can do, it’s absolutely incredible. I guess before being pregnant, I never really thought too much of it.

Do you know if you’re having a boy or a girl? Are you hoping for one or the other? And don’t give us that “We’re happy with a healthy baby” – that goes without saying! haha

*Laughs*

We are planning a surprise, so not finding out. We would be happy with either. But if I’m honest, I’m hoping for a girl - only because we haven’t got a boy’s name yet… Ideas anyone? Haha Comment ideas below J

Awww a girl!! Fingers crossed but I’m sure you’ll come up with a boy’s name soon enough! What about a nursery theme?

Not knowing the sex of the baby means pretty gender-neutral/ natural themes. So, with the nursery, we have focussed on nudes and greys! Once he/she arrives, we can add more colour or a stronger theme idea. It gives us something else to look forward to (and shop for!) – not that we haven’t got enough to look forward to already!

Haha, very true! Have you had any crazy cravings?

I actually haven’t had any crazy unusual cravings yet. I’m mostly craving fresh fruit and breaky things - I have been known to have porridge, banana and honey for dinner.

Breaky tastes better for dinner! Other than breakfast foods, what are you looking forward to eating or drinking once your body is bub-free?

I’m missing sushi so much! *laughs* Jason is under strict instructions to bring chicken teriyaki sushi into the hospital! Oh, and I can’t wait for a good expresso martini or a glass of red!

We’re so excited for you and Jason! We can’t wait to meet the little Miss or Mr And thank goodness you’re feeling great – not sure we’d survive without you! We wish you all the very best with the third trimester – not long now!!
